Here is another funky Blight the Clown title card drawing I made:
Blight the Clown title card #1

I figure that if I continue making these comic strips and drawings, by the end of the year I will have a “Blight the Clown” book ready to unleash to the world. Wish me luck.

So, I also journeyed even deeper into the vaults down in the Blight Swamp to dig up some amazing old gems of art to share with you good ol’ Blight Blog readin’ folks. In the next several posts I will include some work previously thought lost to the world!

Here is another video clip:
This one is some more old public service announcements I made years ago for CUNY TV:

Thanks, and be sure to leave me feedback and comments on both the blog and the youtube channel:

So, now that you have read the second adventure of Blight, if you like strip, please tell all your friends. Send everyone you know a link to the blog and website so they too can enjoy the adventures of everyones favorite little clown.

This past week I managed to celebrate another year of life, and survived the weekend. So hooray me! I also managed to catch a sneak preview of the new film “Run, Fat Boy, Run!” starring Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz & Shaun of the Dead) and directed by David Schwimmer (Friends). The movie was pleasantly funny mixing both comedy and mild silly drama. Some of the bits are cliche, but Simon Pegg has such great timing he makes all the moments work. I do recommend going to see the movie, it was quite fun.

More happy fun video art from the archives:

This is another old video art piece I made with my good old Windows 95 486PC with a 2gig hard drive and 16megs of ram. Editing and compositing in Ulead video studio. I think this was the first project I made an attempt do any sort of compositing. I also think this was my first attempt at capturing some kind of “Clowning” on video.

Thanks for reading the blog. Don’t forget to go to the Blight Productions website and sign up to the mailing list. That way you can be updated when ever a new comic/video/painting/drawing or film is posted on the blog.

Take Care,

March 17, 2008

So here it is, the moment you all have been waiting for!

The world premiere of “The Missing Adventures of Blight the Clown.” The facts have been checked folks, these comics are almost based on actual events that may have happened to someone that Blight heard about one time many years ago. For the first time ever these stories can now be told. Brace yourselves for one heck of a thrill ride, cause even I don’t know where these stories might take you.

Just because you are such good boys and girls, I have uploaded a silly political video mix I made for a show I work on called “Brian Lehrer Live.” It is a silly mash-up of a bunch of the crazy footage that popped up on the net durring the 2008 democratic primarys.

Wacky movie reviews, and “Just Another Feety Bunny”!

March 10, 2008

Well, well well,

Another week has passed, and is time for another blog for your entertainment. There is all kinds of fun time goodness in this posting boy-howdy. I have been busy compositing the scenes for the next clown movie more on than in my next posting. I also watched a bunch of movies; as well as, scanned, digitized, and archived some more art and video.

Here is the quick rundown review of the movies I watched this week:

  1. Eddie Murphy’s “Norbit” – Awful movie, so pathetically bad it makes me wonder what happened to Eddie’s comedic genus. Don’t bother watching this schlock.
  2. Turistas – This pathetic excuse for a horror film seems like it sets out to do for Brazil what Hostel did for Eastern Europe, but miserably fails. Nothing even happens in the movie until about 80% of the way through. Don’t waste your time on this crap either.
  3. Stephen Chow’s “CJ7” – Brilliant movie. Don’t watch this only expecting another Kung Fu Hustle, this movie is something else entirely. This film is an amazing kids movie, with cute characters, silly comedy, and moral lessons to be learned. Go to the theaters right now and watch this fun children’s scifi classic.
  4. Crank – This was a fun mindless action adrenaline rush film. That’s about it. Watch it so you can see Jason Statham kick the shit out of practically everyone else in the film.
  5. Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter – Wow, is just about all I can say. Be sure to watch this with a large group of people. Watch Jesus get his ass kicked, watch as Jesus kicks some ass, watch as Jesus tries to save the lesbians, watch Jesus’s best friend masked wrestler “Santos” save the day and kick more ass. Watch this film for good unwholesome low budget fun.
  6. Swarm of the Snakehead – A movie who’s selling point is that it features Leatherface’s Gunner Hansen. Some interesting moments in the silly attempt to make a family friendly low budget horror comedy, but it was rather hard to get past the really horrible digital effects, CGI, and terrible video image quality. The DVD looked like it was made in iDVD or some other free DVD authoring software and edited on some nonlinear editing system that was made back in the 80’s. Watch this for some good Mystery Science Theater action with friends around to help you suffer through it.

Outside of movie watching I had the chance to archive and post some old artwork:

Below is a photo I took of a friend that worked at the Fun House with me back in 1997.  The image was a black and white silver gelatin print that I hand painted.

I then decided to dig through some old sketches and upload this drawing:

Also, I uploaded a series of old station ID’s I made for CUNY TV back in 2004:

Thats about it for this week.

Stick around, sign up to the mailing list, visit my website, buy some art and watch some videos.

Rock on and fight the power,

New Painting “Clown Party #1”, new “old” video clip and other wacky news and events

March 4, 2008

So this past week has been an interesting one. I finished the rough cut for the new clown movie I shot last week (The Love Story) and I do believe it might just be the most insane creations to ever leak out of my head. I have been brain storming like crazy on how I am going to create the back grounds for the movie, so I have decided I am going to go to Central Park for a little photo shoot, because that’s the park I had in mind when I storyboarded the movie anyway. I have also been painting like crazy for the past two or three weeks (I lost track) to bring to you my latest wack-job, nut house madness. Here is the painting below.

Clown Party #1

If you dig it contact me so you can buy it or show it in your fancy gallery. This is the first in a series of “Clown Party” paintings I am planing to complete.

Also, in other news, I posted another video clip for your viewing enjoyment.

This is another old station ID I made for WNYE TV 25 in NYC that never got used for anything. All the graphics were done in After Effects and I composed the music in soundtrack.

In TOTS related business, we got together this past weekend to recorded more insane noise for the new album. I wont say exactly what we did, but its probably the closest thing to a barbershop quartet TOTS will ever get. I am also working on getting some fancy TOTS and Blight balloons for Blight the Clown to pass out at upcoming shows. Stay tuned, as soon as the come in I will post up some pictures of them.

Dont forget to swing on over to the online shops at Blight Productions to get yourselves some fancy original blight productions art, hats, shirts and other nifty swag.
